Fred L. Meyers' Obituary
Fred L. Meyers, age 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 17, 1941, in Muskegon, MI, to Fred and Emma (Ward) Meyers, he remained a lifelong resident of the community he loved. Fred was a proud graduate of Muskegon Heights High School, Class of 1959, and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Michigan State University. He dedicated over 30 years of his career to Sealed Power, where he worked as an engineer with diligence and passion. On December 29, 1967, Fred married the love of his life, Judith Starr, in Muskegon. Their wedding day was celebrated at the Pulaski Lodge, marking the beginning of nearly 56 wonderful years of love, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Fred was an active member of both the Vikings and the Muskegon Conservation Club. A passionate athlete, he spent years coaching youth baseball and playing softball, always with Judy cheering him on from the sidelines. He was also an avid bowler, hunter, and fisherman, cherishing time spent outdoors. Above all, Fred took immense pride in maintaining his impeccable yard and garden. No matter the season, his lawn was always pristine, a true reflection of his dedication and hard work. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids. Fred will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his three children, Missy (Todd) Nellis, Tom (DeAnna) Meyers and Dan (Dominick Hull) Meyers; six grandchildren, Tyler, Brandon, Mike, Emma, Ben and Charlie; three step-grandchildren, Nicholas, Gillian and Morgan; several great-grandchildren; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and loving wife, Judy Meyers. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with visitation one-hour prior. A Visitation with the family will be held from 5-8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at The Lee Chapel.
