Fred Todd, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Fred A. Todd, Jr., age 86, of Spring Lake passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Heartwood Lodge Hospice Residence. He was born March 6, 1924, in Muskegon to Fred, Sr. and Jenny (Murray) Todd.
Fred worked for the U.S. Postal Service for many years before retiring; he also was a car salesman and a former Muskegon fire fighter. He served his country during WWII as a member of the U.S. Army. Fred was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Spring Lake. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially golf, but most of all spending time with his family.
On September 18, 1943, he married Arline Saur in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on September 24, 2010. He is survived by 2 children: Cindy (Dave) Peppin of Spring Lake and Fred (Karen) Todd III of High Springs, FL; 4 grandchildren: David (Kathy) Peppin, Jr. of Spring Lake, Kristin (Frank) Drexler of Norton Shores, Jenny Todd of Jacksonville, FL, and Fred Todd IV of Gainesville, FL; as well as 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will take place 11:00 AM Thursday, March 3, 2011, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Spring Lake with Rev. Michael Goers officiating. Visitation with the family will take place 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Norton Cemetery.
