Frederick A. "Fred" Diehlman's Obituary
Frederick A. Diehlman, age 90, passed away Friday, August 2, 2024. Fred was born June 28, 1934 in Battle Creek, MI to Raymond F. and Mary M. (Ramsdale) Diehlman and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. Fred was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served 8 years in the reserves. On June 29, 1956, he married Glenna May Scott in Avondale, MI and she survives him. Fred worked 31 years for the State of Michigan and retired in 1992 as 1st Lieutenant with the Michigan State Police. Fred was a member of Twin Lake Community Church where he served as the Trustee Chairman. Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Glenna M. Diehlman; 4 children, Sonya (Robert) Haas, Raymond (Renita) Diehlman, Shari (Greg) Smith, Chris (Diana) Diehlman; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Viola Jelso, Rena Houghteling, Laura (Doug) Rudder; and faithful friend and loyal dog, Toby. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Forrest and David Diehlman; and 2 sister, Ann Diehlman. A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Twin Lake Community Church (5940 Main Street, Twin Lake, MI 49457) with Pastor Ben Jansen officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday. Interment will take place at Sylvan Cemetery in Evart, MI. Fred anonymously supported many children over the years and funded their expenses to attend church camp; therefore, Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Kids for Camp Fund at Twin Lake Community Church.
