Frederick J. Engle's Obituary
Frederick J. Engle, age 82, passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 2, 2016. He was born June 24, 1934 in Muskegon to Martin and Verna Margaret (Anderson) Engle. Fred was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. On December 30, 1955, he married the former Inge Wartenpful in Zweibrucken, Germany. He was a self-employed general contractor for many years and had also co-owned Engle Realty for 40 years before retiring. In his spare time, Fred enjoyed tinkering around in his garage and going to flea markets. SURVIVORS include his wife, Inge; 3 children: Martin “Willy” (Jane) Engle, Susie (Tim) Mashburn, Margaret (Kurt) VanderWagen all of Fruitport; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (MaryJean) Engle of Brooklyn, MI; sister, Linda Wood of Muskegon; 5 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Peter Engle and sister, Marsha Coe. SERVICES for Fred will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100 with Rev. John H. Brown officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
