Frederick A. Linstrom's Obituary
Frederick Arnold Linstrom, age 83, was called to his eternal home in Heaven on Friday morning, October 20, 2017. Fred was born on July 18, 1934 in Muskegon, MI to Harold and Ella (Wentzloff) Linstrom. As a teenager, he was diagnosed with a debilitating illness, but it never stopped him from making the most out of life. He had a wonderful and dry sense of humor, which he never lost, even during his very worst days. Fred graduated from Muskegon High School in 1952 and then Muskegon Business College. He married the love of his life, the former Natalie Roth, on September 2, 1961. They were blessed with 3 children. Fred’s greatest joy in life was his family. A dedicated father, as his children grew, he could be found cheering in the stands for every single one of his daughter’s softball games, son’s baseball games and marching band performances. Fred was an accountant for Wagoner Transportation for almost 40 years. He loved photography, fishing, funny movies, rides around the ovals, picnics, and spending time with family. He was a loyal Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Michigan Wolverines fan. Fred was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and very strong in his faith. Fred and Natalie were blessed with a beautiful marriage of 56 years. They were inseparable, like two peas in a pod. They were both challenged with serious health issues over the years, but always handled them with extraordinary strength and grace. In September, they entered hospice care together, as God prepared to call them Home in tandem. When Natalie passed away on October 3rd, Fred knew where he wanted to be - 17 days were all his broken heart could handle without her. Fred was a remarkable son, brother, husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, and friend. He will be forever loved and missed by his children, Christine (Alex) Fekete, Brian Linstrom, and Steven (Threasa) Linstrom; granddaughter Melissa (David) Brosco; great-granddaughters Ella and Payton Brosco; sisters-in-law Brenda Linstrom, Madeleine (Robert) McGreavy, Kathleen (Larry) Morehouse and Janice (Walter) Swift; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Natalie, his parents, his brother Ron Linstrom and brother-in-law Ross Fenner. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Fred will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church (3225 Roosevelt Rd.) with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial for Fred and Natalie will take place in Lakeside Cemetery at 2:00 PM. For a more lasting memory, donations in Fred’s name can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
