Frederick A. Panyard's Obituary
Mr. Frederick A. “Fred” Panyard, Jr., age 86, passed away Monday, December 30, 2019. He was born in Muskegon, MI on September 18, 1933 to Fred and Margaret (Perry) Panyard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He married the former Annette Howell on January 28, 1956. Mr. Panyard worked for Gerber Products Company in Fremont and was Director of Trade Relations and Customer Development – Gerber Products Division. He retired in 1995 after a 36-year career. Fred was a long-time member of All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont. He was an avid golfer and a member of Fremont Country Club for 30 years. Upon moving back to Muskegon, he became a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #706, and the Elks Lodge #274. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Annette J. Panyard; 4 children, Jim Panyard, Shelley (Brett Flournoy) Haaker, Beth (Cal) DeKuiper, Kathy (Per) Engstrom; 10 grandchildren, Kevin Panyard, Colleen (Jake) Copley, Kasey Panyard, Robert (Merideth) Haaker, Miranda (Allison) DeKuiper, Chelsea (Tyler) Hackert, Cameron DeKuiper, Aidan Engstrom, Berit Engstrom, Camille Engstrom; 1 sister, Peg (Tom) Feldt; brothers-in-law, Jim and Scotty Howell, Dave and Karen Howell, Jack and Chantel Howell, Mike and Arenda Howell; sisters-in-law, Sue Duff, Mary Lou and Jim Benedict, Pat and Arnie Abrulat; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Tom Panyard, and 1 sister, Patricia Panyard, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger and Gloria Chandonnet, brother-in-law, Dennis Duff, nephew, Scott Chandonnet, niece, Renee Duff, and nephew, Matthew Feldt. Due to COVID-19 restrictions concerning social distancing, a private Mass for family will be held. Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church Memorial Fund or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
