Frederick J. Schaub was interviewed Nov. 29, 2010 for inclusion in the Muskegon County World War II Veteran Project. His tribute photo is on permanent display at the USS LST 393 Veterans Museum.
Just want my Aunt Helena and my cousins know I loved my 'Uncle Fred'. His laughter was contagious. I couldn't help to smile when I would see him smile or laugh. I'm very glad I stopped over to my Aunt Helena & Uncle Fred's house to spend time and talk with them, at the time, just before his 95th birthday. He answered some questions that were on my mind and never answered, since his brother Lloyd passed. "Thank you Uncle Fred". I will miss you and I know your soul is in a wonderful place of peace. Uncle Fred was a wonderful uncle. He is the last of the Schaub living brothers & Siblings & family. He will be missed.
