Frederick Lee Green's Obituary
Frederick Lee Green, age 53, of Grand Haven passed away Friday, August 26, 2011, at his home. He was born September 27, 1957, in Augusta, Georgia, to Stanley and Sally (Bolles) Green.
Fred was a 1976 graduate of Grand Haven High School and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven. He had been employed by Shape Corp. An avid gardener, Fred also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking. He also enjoyed sports and was an enthusiastic U of M fan.
Fred married the former Linda Kay Miller on October 24, 1987, in Grand Haven, and she survives him along with a daughter, Kellie (Brandon) Birchmeier of Vail, AZ; two sons, Jordan Green (special friend Taylor Rezny) of Ormond Beach, FL, and Jeremy Green of Grand Haven; his parents, Stanley and Sally Green of Grand Haven; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Miller of Grand Haven; three brothers: Tony (GiGi) Green and Steve (Darlene) Green, both of Grand Haven, and Mark (Sue) Green of Hudsonville; three sisters-in-law: Janis (Jerry) Laughead of Grand Haven, Kathy (Mike) Nelson of Fruitport, and Debbie (Chris) DePagter of Grand Haven; and several nieces and nephews.
The service for Fred will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 1, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven with Rev. Dr. Thomas Cook presiding. Friends may meet the family 6-8 PM Wednesday, August 31, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Interment will be in Lakeshore Cemetery. Memorial contributions in honor of Fred may be given to First Presbyterian Church or to the Fallen Heroes Monument Fund.
