Fred J. Berger's Obituary
Mr. Fred J. Berger, age 80, was born on March 16, 1928 and passed away on March 13, 2009. He was preceded in death by his Mother Dora Berger-Smith, Father Fred Berger, Step-Father Harry Smith, and brothers Paul and George Berger. He is survived by his wife Betty (Lee) Berger, of Muskegon, MI; sister Mary Mallory, of Medford, OR; step-sons Jerry, Robert, and John Lee, and their spouses who live locally; step-daughters Kittye Harman and Becky Johnston and their spouses who live locally. Also, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Fred attended Muskegon, MI schools and graduated from Muskegon High School in 1946. He joined the Navy in February of 1949, serving 4 years. He retired from Whittaker Electric, was a lifetime member of the Mona Lake Boat Club, and a member of the Eagles. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and cribbage player. Fred will be missed by his family and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Baptist Church, 4381 S. Sheridan, Muskegon, MI with Pastor Scott Church and Pastor Roy Williamson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Harbor Hospice – Poppen Residence.
