Fredrick E. "Bud" Welty's Obituary
Mr. Fredrick “Bud” E. Welty, age 92, died Thanksgiving Day morning, November 26, 2009, in Muskegon. He was born September 1, 1917 in Muskegon to Edward & Mary Welty and had been a life resident of the area. Fred had been employed at Dresser Crane and Hoist prior to his retirement in 1983. He was a member of Hope Reformed Church and of the DADS of VFW; and also volunteered at International Aid. On June 8, 1945 he married the former Juella Wolters and she preceded him in death on March 25, 2007. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Norman (Louanna) Welty and Gloria Retzlaff of Grand Haven, Lawrence (Karen) Welty and Betty (Edward) Garvey of Muskegon; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. SERVICES will be 1PM Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Hope Reformed Church with Pastor Steve Hyma officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Fred’s family will be 6-9PM Monday at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442 (231-726-5210).
