Fred Wm. Overeem's Obituary
Mr. Fred Wm. Overeem, age 93, died Friday morning, May 7, 2004, in Muskegon. He was born March 21, 1911 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to John & Gertrude (Siegert) Overeem and then moved to the Muskegon area in 1919, where he has since resided. Fred had been employed at Sargent Specialty & Machine Co. for 22 years prior to his retirement in 1976. He was a member of Unity Reformed Church. On June 25, 1938 he married the former Lucy Hollar and she survives him along with 2 children, Fredric J. (Mildred) Overeem of Rockford, MI and Kathleen Messenger of Grand Haven; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Neal of Wisconsin and 1 sister, Ann VanDyke of Muskegon. SERVICES will be 4:00 PM Monday at Unity Reformed Church (1521 Porter Rd.) with the Rev. Kyle DeYoung officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION will be 2-4 & 6-8PM Sunday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442
