G. Lila VerHulst's Obituary
Mrs. G. Lila VerHulst, age 88, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 in Muskegon. She was born on March 9, 1929 in Muskegon to Merle and Hazel (Mast) Goodrich, and resided in the area all of her life. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and especially her Detroit Tigers. On May 8th, 1948, she married Lewis VerHulst, and he preceded her in death in 1972. SURVIVORS include six children, Gordon (Jill) VerHulst of Muskegon, Thomas (Sally) VerHulst of California, Carol Stark of Muskegon, William VerHulst of South Dakota, Vivian (Art Hanson) Medley of Muskegon, and Larry (Chris) VerHulst also of Muskegon; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Georgia (Jerry) Hayes and Darlene Withers; one brother, Gene (Delores) Goodrich, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lila was also preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Leonard Stark and Marc Medley; sister and brother-in-law, Dawn (Jim) Felt; brother and sister-in-law, Mert (Bea) Goodrich; brother, Chuck Goodrich, and brother-in-law, Stan Withers. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Monday, November 20, 2017 at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church (1568 West Giles Rd) with Rev. Dr. Sherwin Brantsen officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 3-5 PM Sunday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery.
