Gail E. DeWitt's Obituary
Gail Ellen “Grama Gail” DeWitt, age 80, passed away Monday evening, January 8, 2018. She was born January 18, 1937 in Muskegon to William and Theresa (VanDyke) Ward. On September 11, 1954, she married Edwin DeWitt in Muskegon and together they celebrated 63 years of marriage. They were members of Life Change Church in Muskegon. She loved and supported Gospel Revival Ministries and Teaching all the Nations. SURVIVORS include her husband, Ed; children, Debbie (Terry) Montambo, Michael DeWitt, Mark (Tricia) DeWitt; 12 grandchildren: Heidi (Dave) Clinansmith, Chad Montambo, Adam (Amanda) Montambo, Becki (Corey) Holstine, Jenny (Andy) Grieve, Kaitlyn (Cory) Gould, Dessi Dursema, Hannah Dursema, Joshua DeWitt, Jacob DeWitt, Taylor (Walker) Hopkins, Madelyn DeWitt; 17 great-grandchildren: Lilly, Emily, Jack, Grace, Olivia, Miles, Spencer, Elliot, Sam, Claire, Lydia, Sadie, Jamie, Christian, Emma, Calvin, and Carson. Brother, Bill Ward; 2 sisters: Sharon (Leo) Smith, Bev (Lyle) Richards; 4 sisters-in-law: Carol DeWitt, Connie, Priscilla and Carol Ward; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Lori and LeeAnn Jo DeWitt; 5 brothers: Eugene, Donald, Eddie, Jerry, and Teddy. “Grama Gail” loved the Lord with all her heart. She was selfless in her giving and her love for her husband and family. She never hesitated to share the love of Jesus to anyone she met. Her love for people and her God given talents were evident. She was always sewing bags, neck pillows, and making flower arrangements, blessing everyone that crossed her path and were always accompanied by a poem written by her. Her determination and endurance brightened others days in spite of the many health challenges she faced. Gail will be greatly missed by many. SERVICES for Gail will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 15, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100 with her son-in-law Terry Montambo officiating. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday, January 14, 2018 and also one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Norton Cemetery.
