Mrs. Gail Emily Estlund's Obituary
Mrs. Gail Emily Estlund, age 71, passed away Monday, February 20, 2012. She was born January 7, 1941 in Cheboygan, MI to Amos and Helen (Berger) Dowdy. Gail graduated in 1959 from Muskegon High School. She was a secretary for Immanuel Lutheran Church for 11 years. She then worked for Walmart for 14 years before retiring in 2010. On November 3, 1973 she married James “Jim” Estlund in Muskegon and he survives her along with her baby, “Toby”; 3 children, Renae Petersen of Muskegon, Lea Ann (Steve) Bruneau of Spring Lake, James (Katie) Estlund of Grand Rapids; 3 grandsons; 2 great-granddaughters; 2 brothers, Donald (Jean) Dowdy of WA, Kenneth (Bonnie) Dowdy of Muskegon; 3 sisters, Marilynn Gates of CA, Andrea (Wyman) Osborn of CA, Kathy Botello of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. SERVICES will be 2:00 PM Friday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210 with Rev. Lewis Glick officiating. Burial will take place in Egelston Twp. Cemetery. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Muskegon Rescue Mission or Hospice of MI.
