Gail G. Zuidema's Obituary
Mrs. Gail G. Zuidema, age 85, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, February 15, 2005. She was born in Muskegon on September 9, 1919, to John and Bessie (Bowen) Veeneman, and had been a life resident. Mrs. Zuidema was employed by Sealed Power for 40 years before retiring in 1981, and ran her own candle making business, a hobby that she loved very much. She was a member of Forest Park Covenant Church where she was active in teaching Sunday School. On August 29, 1941, she married Ryan L. Zuidema, and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1995. Survivors include 2 children, Jane (Dale) Peterson, Ginny (Roger) Schutter; 6 grandchildren, Glenn (Bekah) Peterson of Vancouver, BC, Keri (Marc) Dykema of Kalamazoo, Gregory Peterson; Tracy (Dan) Lee, Paul Peterson, Cydney (Ray) Idsinga; 4 sisters, Geraldine Sullivan of Fremont, MI, Delores Veeneman, Donna Holstine, JoAnn (Ken) Osborn; 1 brother, John (Mary) Veeneman of Huntsville, AL; and many nieces and nephews. SERVICES will be 1PM Friday at Forest Park Covenant Church with Rev. Paul Bengtson officiating. VISITATION with the family will be Thursday, 3-5 and 7-9PM at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 231-759-8565, and 12-1PM at church Friday. Interment will take place at Mona View Cemetery. Memorials can be made in Mrs. Zuidema’s name to the Mary and Joseph Residences of Forest Park Covenant Church or Bethany Christian Services – International Adoption Special Needs Fund.
