Gale L. Vande Water's Obituary
Gale L. Vande Water, age 64, of Grand Haven passed away Monday, November 11, 2019, at her sister’s home in Wayland, MI. She was born April 16, 1955, in Grand Rapids, MI to Donald Charles and Marion Ruth (Bursma) Vande Water, Sr.
Gale graduated from Baker College in 2008 and worked as a physical therapy assistant for Generation Care for eleven years. She had previously worked at Steelcase and General Motors as a millwright for twenty-two years. She was a member of the United Lutheran Church of West Olive. Gale loved the outdoors, camping, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, going to Colorado, and was a fierce competitor in enduro motorcycle racing. Most of all, her love for her family exceeded all else.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Chelsea (Brandon) Root of Lake City, MI; step-daughter, Christine Estefan of Grand Rapids; step-son, Dr. David (Giovanna) Estefan of Hudsonville, four grandchildren: Joey Biesbrock, Jacob Biesbrock, Peter Estefan, Patrick Estefan, (and one more expected in April 2020); sister, Linda (Daniel) Grzegorski of Wayland, MI; brother, Donald (Kim) Vande Water, Jr. of Jenison, MI; sister-in-law, Betty Vande Water of North Muskegon; special family friends, Bob (Stacy) Swick, and Tyler and Bradley Swick; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dr. Gary Vande Water on September 2, 2011.
The funeral service for Gale will be held at 12:00 Noon Monday, November 18, 2019, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417 with Rev. Dan Anderson officiating. Friends may meet the family 1 – 4 p.m. Sunday, November 17, at The VanZantwick Chapel and one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be in Lake City Cemetery on Tuesday, November 19. Memorial contributions to Disabled American Veterans are appreciated.
