Gara D. Wiseman's Obituary
Gara Deann Wiseman, age 50, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Twin Lake, MI, on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Gara was born in Gary, IN, on November 22, 1973, to Garry and Donna (Johnson) Borkowski. She spent the first few years of her life in South Bend, IN, then moved to west Michigan, where she attended Hudsonville High School. On September 8, 2001, she married James Wiseman, and they spent 28 wonderful years together. Gara worked for the last few years at ADAC Automotive, and for many years beforehand at Pliant Plastics. One of Gara’s best qualities was always putting others before herself, and she was always willing to lend her time and energy to others. She was always the life of the party and loved dancing and listening to music, especially Prince. She was the glue that brought people together with her optimism, joyful spirit, and infectious laugh. She was a creative and handy individual that was able to handle many projects around the house. She loved spending time with her family and was always involved in whatever her children were doing, and she especially loved spending time with her granddaughter, Clara. Some of her favorite memories took place with her family on their annual vacations to Drummond Island, MI. She had a passion for bringing family together and loved hosting events over the holidays. Gara will be lovingly remembered by her husband, James Wiseman; two children: John (Marissa) McCleve and Jaden (Matthew) Udell; granddaughter, Clara McCleve, and another granddaughter on the way; mother, Donna Borkowski; two sisters, Leann Borkowski and Angie (Billy) Ross; parents in-law, James and Patricia Wiseman; two half-brothers, Michael (Shari) and Mark Borkowski; three siblings in-law: David (Barb) Wiseman, Debbie (Terry) Temple, and Donna (Kevin) Huston; close aunt, Gayle Hennings; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Garry Borkowski, and her half-brother, Daniel (Cindy) Borkowski. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held for Gara at 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444. VISITATION will be taking place from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, December 22, 2023, as well as an hour prior to the service on Saturday.
