Garth L. Shaw's Obituary
Garth L. Shaw, age 74, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 3, 2016. He was born January 13, 1942 in Muskegon to J. Warner & C. Marie (Barringer) Shaw. Garth was a 1960 graduate of Muskegon Heights High School and on December 2, 1961 married the former Dorie Pehm in Muskegon. She preceded him in death on June 26, 2006. Mr. Shaw had been the former owner of Port City Pest Control since the 1960’s and most recently G.H. Window Cleaners for 15 years. He was a former member of the Westshore CB Radio Club and the Hile Recreation Association. In the past Garth enjoyed flying airplanes, fishing, and bowling. He mostly enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, and also playing video games with his son Landon. SURVIVORS include a daughter, Shawn (Bob) Grabinski of Muskegon; 3 sons: Lamont (Merry) Shaw of White Cloud, Scott (Shelli) Shaw, Landon (Tamara) Shaw both of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Teryl Sovacool of Florida, Valerie Davis of Muskegon; 6 nieces and 1 nephew. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother; and 2 sisters. PRIVATE family services will be held for Garth. Memorials to the Noah Project will be appreciated.
