Gary J. Allen's Obituary
Gary J. Allen, age 73, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017. He was born January 19, 1944 in Muskegon to Howard and Jeanne (Ewing) Allen. Gary was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and on August 21, 1971, married the former Linda K. Eichorst in Muskegon. He had worked for several area companies in the Muskegon area including Lakey Foundry and the Browne-Morse Company. He retired in 2008 from L3 Communications after 42 years of employment. Gary was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church and was a life member of the VFW Post #446. Gary graduated in the 2nd graduating class at Orchard View High School and was their number one fan and supporter. He was also an avid outdoorsman, loved to garden, and do work in his yard. SURVIVORS include his wife, Linda; two children: Karen (Kevin) Staples, Gary “Joe” Allen, Jr.; two grandchildren: Nikki (Liz) Stapel, Jordyn Staples; 2 great-grandchildren: Abigail and Torrie; two brothers: Howard (Marie) Allen, Roye (Nikki) Allen; two sisters: Arlene Johnston, and Arletta (Jeff) Dixon; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. SERVICES for Gary will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Fellowship Reformed Church with Rev. Mike VanKampen officiating. VISITATION with his family will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210. Memorials to the Harbor Hospice Foundation will be appreciated.
