Gary Wayne Cox's Obituary
Gary Wayne Cox, age 73, passed away May 18, 1924 after being diagnosed with lung cancer in January 2024. He was born October 1, 1950 in Muskegon, MI Arthur Cox and Maryann (Kotrosits) Cox. He was a graduate of the Class of 1968 at Muskegon High School. In his childhood years, Gary spent summer months at the family cottage on Major Lake with his family and many cousins. Gary worked as a Master Electrician for Home Depot and retired in California. After retirement, he relocated to Redington Shores, FL which he described it as “Paradise on the Beach”. Gary was an extreme Tampa Bay Bucs Fan and worked most of the games he could with the Tampa Jaycee’s as past president. He would fly back to Muskegon every summer to work and volunteer at the Muskegon Summer Celebration. Gary was always cool, calm and collected and was a friend to all. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Gilbert of Floriday; 2 songs, Jason (Martha) Cox of Florida, Scott Cox of Muskegon; his grandson, Carver Cox of Muskegon; his siblings, Dale Cox of Muskegon, Janis (Karl) Ibershoff of Muskegon, Kimberly (Wayne) Morrison of Florida; several step brothers and step sisters. He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Arthur and Elaine Cox, and his mother and step-father, Maryanne and Gordon Norstrom.
