Gary Owen Fairbanks' Obituary
Gary Owen Fairbanks, age 65, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at home. He was born November 21, 1950, in Red Bank, Tennessee, to Homer Ordell and Bessie Faye (Vandergriff) Fairbanks, and he married Patricia Grace Hall on May 20, 1972, in Muskegon. Gary was a member of Hope Reformed Church and the Grand Haven Eagles Aerie # 925. He served his country in the Navy, and worked as a Boilermaker with Local # 169. His other interests were hunting, camping, fishing, and traveling. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia Fairbanks of Grand Haven; two daughters, Sharee Fairbanks and Tina (Joseph) Babbitt of Grand Haven; his son, Gary (Jessica) Fairbanks, II of Muskegon; six grandchildren: Mika, Jayla, Brent, Shane, Kayci, and Alexandra; his brother, Larry (Sandy) Fairbanks of Grand Haven. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Gloria Fairbanks. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Hope Reformed Church with Rev. Tim Taylor officiating. Friends may meet the family 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Memorial contributions to Hope Reformed Church Children’s Ministry or Hospice of North Ottawa Community are appreciated.
