I am So Sorry to hear of Gary’s passing. He was such a Great & Confident man, Always put a smile on my face. I was his Pepsi driver at Haspers back in the day. I got to meet his entire family through the store, What a Great Family they are. I bumped into Gary many times over the years , & we talked & laughed together. My sincerest sympathy to you, Anita, Scott, Steven and Suzanne and your families.

Anita, we met on the Empire Builder train in Sept 1956 on the way to Calvin College. After college I worked for Carnation Company, and called on Gary at the Hasper Stores office and serviced the stores. When Scott was born, I remember delivering Carnation milk by the case to your home for his formula. I remember Gary as a 'gentle giant' who was always cordial when I called as a rookie salesman, and when we met years later after I left the food business, he remembered me, still as friendly and cordial as always.

We pray that God, by His Holy Spirit, will comfort you as you walk through this dark valley, knowing that Gary's soul and spirit are now at home with his Lord, living in heavenly perfection that we some day look forward to sharing.

May God bless you and keep you! May the light of His countenance shine upon you and give you His peace!

Sincere Condolence to the family. I worked for Gerber Baby Foods stocking shelves in the Hasper Stores. I would talk with Gary at the Lakes Mall and at Planet Fitness Center and it was an enjoyment to talk with him. He will be missed. Ron & Bonnie Micka 1512 Garrison

So sorry to hear of Gary's passing ! We saw him at Meijers and he told us about his health. We both worked at The Chronicle and remember Bill and Barney very well! We shopped at Hasper-E MANY years. He was a great guy and will sadly be missed!
