Gary E. Korvela's Obituary
Mr. Gary E. Korvela, age 80 passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 in Ferrysburg, Michigan. He was born on June 25, 1935 in Munising, Michigan to Albert and Aureta (Keller) Korvela. Gary was an Army veteran having served during the Korean conflict. He was a school teacher at John Glen High school for 25 years prior to retirement and moving to the Spring Lake area in 1990. Gary was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was an avid golfer but family was always first. SURVIVORS include his three daughters, Rebecca (Jim) Wolff, Yvonne (Bill) McKessy and Carolyn (Mike) Toomey; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, his sister Susan (David) Dugas, and his good friend Jill Korvela. He was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Peters. At Gary’s request no funeral services will be held. Memorial contributions may be directed to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF.org).
