Gary Lee Weller's Obituary
Gary Lee Weller, age 70, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Mercy Hospital. Gary was born December 10, 1950 in Muskegon to Robert and Joanna (Verbist) Weller and was a lifelong resident. Gary was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. Gary married Sheryle Rae Bourdo on November 6, 1970. He founded G&W Refrigeration over 30 years ago and in 2019, the business was passed to his family when Gary retired. Gary was a member of the Fruitport Eagles and the Ravenna Conservation Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved fishing. Gary was a great person and huge provider for his family. He instilled great life skills in his boys and grandchildren and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his loving wife, Sheryle Weller; 2 sons, Robert N. (Anna) Weller, Brian L. Weller; 6 grandchildren, Taylor (Chris) Jordan, Mackenzie (Tristan Host) Weller, Meagan Trutsch, Jakob Trutsch, Jade Weller, Shayne Weller; and 1 great-granddaughter on the way; 1 brother, Randy (Vicki) Weller; 1 sister, Robin (James) Long; 1 brother-in-law, Edward (Barbara) Bourdo; and 2 sisters-in-law, Sharon Rogalla and Sheila (Lloyd) Holland. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Steve Weller; his in-laws, Neil and Elizabeth Bourdo; and 2 brothers-in-law, Frederick (Georgia) Bourdo and James Rogalla. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 14, 2021 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 3252 E Apple Ave., with the Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson presiding. Military Honors will be offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Michigan Army National Guard. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Thursday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444. Facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
