Gary M. Reed's Obituary
Mr. Gary M. Reed, age 66, spent his first day in heaven on Tuesday, January 27, 2009. He fought a short, but courageous battle with cancer.
He was born August 30, 1942 to Lester and Tressie (Cole) Reed in Bear Lake, Michigan. He married Laura Reinertson on June 24, 1967 in Muskegon. He taught in the English Department at Mona Shores High School for 33 years before retiring in June of 1997. After retirement, his passion lied in browsing estate sales to find treasures, which he then would sell on E-Bay. He created a fun and profitable hobby out of E-Bay. He also was a volunteer driver for Red Cross, an active member of Friends of Norton Shores Library, and a member of the Mona Shores Band Parents. He was an avid reader and took many trips throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe with his family. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Laura; one son, Branden Reed of Muskegon; one daughter, Cambria (Josh) DeHoag of Hudsonville; three grandchildren, Oakleigh Reed, Alessa DeHoag, and Carter DeHoag; his father, Lester Reed of Bear Lake; two sisters, Cathy Wood of Bear Lake and Carolyn Damaska of Westland; two brothers, Jim (Lyn) Reed of Brookfield, Wisconsin and C. Wayne (Nancy) Reed of Bear Lake and Punta Gorda, Florida; and a very close friend, Jerry Galbreath of Muskegon. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 31, 2009 at
