Gayle R. Ingersoll's Obituary
Gayle R. Ingersoll, age 68, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Trinity Health – Muskegon Hospital. He was born November 28, 1957 in Greenville, MI to Clifford and Charlotte (Rambo) Ingersoll. Gayle worked 25 years for Frigidaire Corp, 20 of those years as a Chief Union Steward and retired in 2006. He later worked as the Sound & Media Tech for Temple United Methodist Church. On August 4, 2018, he married Melissa S. Miller in Norton Shores, MI. Gayle was active with Back Water Fantasy Football League for many years. He was an avid Dungeons and Dragons enthusiast and enjoyed playing his guitar. Gayle was an avid Detroit Lions Fan and loved to play golf. He was very talented at creating and painting miniatures. Survivors include his wife, Melissa S. Miller; 3 step children, Laura Glendening, Miles (Loganne) Glendening, Ashley Boersma; 4 step grandchildren, Josiah, Charlotte, Magdalene, Shiloh; his mother, Charlotte Harvey; and 1 brother, Steve (Debbie) Ingersoll. He is also survived by his children, Jacob Ingersoll and Rachel Ingersoll. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Ingersoll, and 1 brother, Dan “Boog” Ingersoll. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Temple United Methodist Church, 2500 Jefferson Avenue, Muskegon Heights, MI 49444. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements handled by The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444.
