Gene A Sain's Obituary
Mr. Gene A. Sain, age 64, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, November 8, 2020. He was born in Muskegon on May 23, 1943 to Nelly Sain and Nona Ray Johnson, and was a life-long resident of Muskegon Heights MI. He attended Muskegon Heights High School and was a middle weight championship pro boxer; he played like Muhammad Ali and many others who are famous boxers today. Gene also loved to play football and was a semi pro football player. He worked at General Dynamics for 30 years as a C&C Machinist. He contributed to the community by opening several stores including Sain’s Market and G & J Smokehouse; and he and his wife Jean also owned and operated a day care center in their community. Gene was a well-liked community leader with many talents. He is survived by his children, Karl, Jacquelyn, Renardo, Mario, Nicholas, Billy, and Tyjuan Lyons; two brothers, Latrice and Floyd; 25 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; daughter, Shenita; grandsons, David, Jr., and Darrell; great granddaughter, Karmella; brother, Connie; sisters, Beatrice, Lenora, Otto and Evelyne.
