Genesis Ramos' Obituary
On the first of October a gust of wind swept away a flame: her name was Genesis Ramos, age 23. Those near to Genesis-family, friends and brothers and sisters in Christ- were left with eyes as sore and red as embers, asterisk of tears on one another’s shoulders and the enormity of Genesis silence as her survivors carry on in this life while Genesis carries on in the next. And while her survivor’s will to mourn is great, their will to carry on Genesis spirit is greater.
When one experiences an unexpected loss the natural graces of life are lost on most. Yet those who knew Genesis bring forth thoughts from the past to the present to compass the here and now. For instance, Genesis had a mouth that was made for smiling, an aura of compassion and care for all she came into contact with and a laugh that playfully nudged family and friends in the ribs: It wasn’t a matter of if she made your day but rather when she made your day. For 3 years Genesis volunteered at the Grand Haven Pregnancy Center. At the Center Genesis was able to do fulfilling work by helping teens bridge perilous positions in life. There was a communion between Genesis and those she helped where she helped guide them in a positive direction in life and they, through their stories, helped lead Genesis to her path and calling: Counseling. With Genesis’ smile that could clear overcast skies, a personality that took to other’s hurt like water does paper and a deep care for improving others’ lives, Genesis planned to move to California to finish her bachelors in Child Counseling. It’s without question that Genesis would have excelled and done a great amount of good for others’ lives but life unraveled like life unraveled and now, instead of being out west, she’s in heaven. Survivors include her parents Jose and Genoveva Ramos; Sister, Gaby (Jacob) Van Hook; Brothers, Edson and Jose Jr. Ramos; Grandmother, Genoveva Gonzales; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and a nephew on the way. Genesis was preceded in death by her grandparents, Juan and Agustina Ramos and Ricardo Lopez The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 6th, 2015 at Harvest Bible Church (225 E. Exchange St.) Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service, from 12-1:00 PM at the church. Memorial Contributions will go to the Grand Haven Pregnancy Center and the Harvest Bible Chapel. Please sign the online guestbook at www.vbkfuneralhome.com.
The family is being served by VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home of Spring Lake.
