Mrs. Geneva M. Dixon's Obituary
Mrs. Geneva M. Dixon, age 84, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017. Geneva was born February 3, 1933 in Cadillac, MI to Benjamin and Florence (Garn) Bogue. On December 1, 1951, Genny married William H. Dixon and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2007. She had been employed as a clerk at JC Penney for close to 15 years prior to her retirement in 1993. Genny was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, and earlier on in her life, enjoyed dancing, bowling, and camping. Genny was a wonderful mother and grandmother will be missed by her children, Linda (Gary) Wood and Karan (David) Kelly all of Whitehall, and William (Teresa) of Ravenna; grandchildren, Geoffrey (Jessica) Wood, Cristofer (Sara) Wood, William “Will” H. Dixon lll, Colleen (Tom) Merkins, and Kim (Chad) Wilson ; 7 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Joyce Bogue, Bertha Bogue, and Virginia Bogue; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, William, she was preceded in death by her parents; 4 sisters; and 7 brothers. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 7, 2017 at First Baptist Church 1070 S. Quarterline Rd. with Pastor Andrew Smith officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM). Interment will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of flowers, MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to First Baptist Church.
