George Archie Hendrick's Obituary
Mr. George Archie Hendrick, age 80, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2006 in Muskegon. Mr. Hendrick was born November 29, 1926 to Archie P. and Leota (Austin) Hendrick in Muskegon. George served in the US Navy during WWII. On June 29, 1963, he married the former Cora I. VanDop in Muskegon. He was employed at Kaydon Corp. for 38 years, a portion of that time spent as a supervisor, prior to retiring in 1990. George was an avid hunter and taught his sons the fine art of bird hunting. He loved gardening, landscaping, carpentry and golf, but most of all, he loved gatherings with his family, picnics at the lake house, and especially Thanksgivings.  George was a long time member of the Shelby Congregational United Church of Christ where he had volunteered many hours caring for the church building.  George is SURVIVED by his wife of 43 years, Cora Irene Hendrick; his children, Archie S. (Carol) Hendrick of Skandia, UP, Bonnie B. (Daniel Achterhoff) Hendrick of Muskegon, Cameron W. (Christine) Hendrick of WI, Daniel B. (Jan) Hendrick of Grand Rapids; children by marriage to Cora,  Michael (Judy) Crouch of Norton Shores, Sheryl (Dennis) Gunst of Norton Shores, David (Ruth) Crouch of Holland, MI, and Curtis (Cheryl) Crouch of  Muskegon; many  grandchildren and great-grand children; 2 sisters, Donna Dunham of Lowell, IN and Ruth Cross of Elkhorn, WI; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his granddaughter, Madeline Hendrick.  A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 12 Noon, Saturday, December 30, 2006, at the Shelby Congregational United Church of Christ, 51 Third St., with Rev. Dr. Earnest H. Cummings officiating.  VISITATION will be held from 6-8PM Friday evening at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Ave.
