George "Bud" Elgin Cook's Obituary
George “Bud” E. Cook, age 84, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in Muskegon, MI. Bud was born to Clifford and Georgianna (Sliter) Cook on April 13, 1941, in Fremont, MI. While Bud was working his apprenticeship, he became a journeyman electrician and all-around handyman. No project was too big for him to tackle on his own from remodeling jobs to building his own homes. Bud enjoyed destination free car rides, visits to the casinos; however, nothing was more important to Bud than his family. Bud loved entertaining both family and friends from planning, setting the perfect table, to preparing and serving meals. He enjoyed working in his workshop, building Christmas presents, making toy blocks for his grandchildren, giving tractor rides, sledding off rooftops and having family get-togethers. For Christmas he would hang teddy bears from the Christmas tree for the little ones that visited – family or not. To surprise his children, wedding gifts consisted of live animals of significance, many of which Bud would raise on his own for the enjoyment of his grandchildren. Bud is survived in death by his wife: Brenda Cook; children: Thomas Cook, Joseph (Julie) Cook, Shelly (Jim) Way, Trudy Galdeen, Jeffrey (Dede) Cook; stepchildren: Adam Brege, Jennifer Brege, Melissa (Jason) Michael, Nevaeh Brege; grandchildren:, Sarah Cook, William Cook, Samantha Novinski, Jeri Postal, Melanee Scott, Courtney Payne, Keith Dinkins, Kathryn Peterson, Taylor Buechler, Lynette Wilkerson, Holly Foster, Drew Galdeen, Zachery Cook, Bradley Cook, Jaxon Frees; great grandchildren: Zailee, Jack, Lennon, Tatum, Darcie, Tre, Calvin, Zavier, Cam, Cameron, Liam, Sawyer, Kynlee, Maverick, Linnix, Wailon and Walker, and many nieces and nephews. It didn’t matter how the children came into his life – he loved them immensely. He is preceded in death by his parents: Clifford and Georgianna Cook; 1st wife: Joyce (Bryant) Cook; brother: Clifford Cook; sisters: Holly (Cook) Dobb and Dorothy (Cook) Grinwis. May God bless those who loved Bud. VISITATION will take place on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Fellowship Reformed Church, 4200 Apple Ave. Muskegon, MI. 49442 with a MEMORIAL SERVICE at 11:00 AM and a LUNCHEON following.
