George R. Carroll's Obituary
Written by George's wife, Sandy.
Mr. George R. Carroll left this earthly life to join his Heavenly family on January 16, 2020. He was born on November 1, 1939 to Maurice and Lila Carroll in Charlotte, Michigan. His childhood was spent in the company of his siblings, Maurice (Pudge), Allen, and Clara Ellen. George worked as a pattern maker at several of the local pattern shops throughout his career. A fellow pattern maker introduced George and I in 1979, and they spent 39 years together. He became the step-father to my children, Chris and Kim where he learned the joys of parenting.
Everyone who met George knew his kindness and generosity. He had the gift of gab and enjoyed conversing about his life experiences, especially related to hunting, fishing, trail riding, camping or his favorite restaurants. George had a love for the Boy Scouts and remained an active leader to the end.
The true love of his life was his family, including his adored grandchildren, Georden, Alaina, Lilly, Wendel, Owen, and Veda. George was taken before he was able to meet his newest granddaughter, Kathlynn. I believe it took her so long to arrive because grandpa wouldn’t let her go.
George leaves the rest of us with fond memories and wishes for more time, a chance to say the things that were never said often enough, a chance to do the things that were only talked about, and a chance to just listen to his stories and absorb the wisdom he had to offer.
There are too many individuals to name each one and would regret leaving anyone out so let me say, if you were family or friend you were in his heart. He loved you. His generosity was without limits. We are all benefited from knowing him.
He had his faults, as all of us do but I am sure he was met at Heaven’s door with the words, “Well done my good and faithful son”.
