George A. DeRuiter's Obituary
George A. DeRuiter, age 72, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 30, 2020. He was born on November 9, 1947, to Raymond and Ida Belle (Knutson) DeRuiter in Muskegon. He worked for 20 years at CWC Textron and then 17 years at Eagle Ottawa Leather. George was an avid sports fan. He loved Nascar and watching the Tigers. He enjoyed his motorcycles, cooking, sewing, and spending time with family and rides by the lake. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers Raymond and Gary DeRuiter and sister Beverly Billington. George is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Tammy DeRuiter; children Taylor DeRuiter, Misty (Clint) Kempf, Richard (Chelsea) DeRuiter, Matt (Kristy) DeRuiter, George DeRuiter Junior, David (Leighan) Jensen, Corenna (Jeff) DeRuiter, Theresa (Allie) DeRuiter-Shanty; 17 grandkids and 5 great-grandkids and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place per George’s wishes. A private family service will take place at a later date.
