George N. Dreleozis' Obituary
George N. Dreleozis, age 91, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the Poppen Residence of Harbor Hospice. He was born December 4, 1931 in Matessi, Greece to Nicholas and Fotini (Alexapoulos) Dreleozis and came to the United States in 1951 at the age of 18 not speaking the language, with very little money, but learned his way achieving the true American Dream. George served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On October 15, 1961, he married Pota Lambropoulos in Muskegon. George spent his career in the restaurant industry and had owned several local restaurants over the years. He was also the head chef for the Elks Lodge in Muskegon and Grand Rapids. He retired in 1986. He was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Norton Shores. Survivors include his beloved wife, Pota Deleozis; 3 children, Frances (Ben) Minasola, Nick Dreleozis, Ann (Tim) Conzemius; 6 grandchildren, Jovanna (fiance, Brett Lysik) Minasola, Gianna Minasola, Georgina Dreleozis, Nicholas Dreleozis, Matthew (Cassie) Conzemius, Christopher Conzemius; 1 great-grandchild due in May; and 1 brother, Andriko Dreleozis. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Kosta (Vasiliki) Dreliozis, and 1 sister, Stavoula (Dimitri) Apostle. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 20, 2023 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church (185 E. Pontaluna Road, Norton Shores, 49444) with Rev. Fr. Joseph Gingrich presiding. Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00 AM Monday prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Norton Cemetery.
