George C. Fodrocy's Obituary
George C. Fodrocy, age 82, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025. He was born January 17, 1943, in Muskegon to John and Mary (Dean) Fodrocy and had been a lifelong resident of the area. George graduated from Reeths-Puffer High School in 1961. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a lifetime member of VFW Post #8846. He spent 36 years working as a mechanical engineer for Teledyne Continental Motors and General Dynamics prior to retirement. George attended Calvary Memorial Church, where he volunteered as a greeter. In his free time, George enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, watching the Detroit Tigers, and playing softball in his earlier years. He was also a talented crafter. George was fun-loving, had a great sense of humor, and loved making people smile. He will be missed by all who knew him. On February 19, 1966, he married the love of his life the former Jeanne M. Hatch in Muskegon, and she survives him along with three children: Amy (Paul) Johnson of Twin Lake, Ann (Jeff) Barnes of Twin Lake, and Amy Leanne Mixon of Georgia; eight grandchildren: Jacob, Joel, Jessica, McKenzie, Madison, Deresse, Tadesse, and Brantly; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane Sandwick; and sister-in-law, Audrey “Mickey” Fodrocy. George was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Leonard, Robert, and Wesley; sister, Roseann; and brother-in-law, Jim Sandwick.
