Mr. George L. Goudie's Obituary
Mr. George L. Goudie, 73, passed away November 29, 2020 in Muskegon after a two-week battle with Coronavirus. He was born October 13, 1947 to George and Carmen (Williams) Goudie in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. George attended Muskegon Catholic Central, graduating in 1965. He then attended Muskegon Community College before receiving his bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University. He later moved on to receive his master’s degree from Western Michigan University. He married the love of his life, Christine, on June 3, 1995. George worked in the education field for almost 30 years. He worked for Orchard View Schools teaching special needs students for several years. He then went on to work at Reeths-Puffer Schools in 1978 where he retired as Assistant Superintendent of Schools in 1998. George loved spending time with his devoted family. He had a true passion for the game of racquetball which he played for over 30 years. He also enjoyed regular walks on the beach with his wife, boating, golfing, rides in his T-Bird convertible with his wife, and most recently pickleball. He and his wife also enjoyed volunteering at the Kids’ Food Basket. George was a wonderful husband and father. He had such a beautiful soul, and he touched more lives than he will ever know. He truly lived life to the fullest. He is survived by his wife Christine; children: Christopher Goudie, Scott (Rhonda) Goudie, Rebecca Peterson, and Andrew Rich; siblings: Patricia (Tom) Arnote, Pamela (Larry) Lebeau, James (Sharon) Goudie, and John (Lori) Goudie; four grandchildren, one great-grandson; many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Cindy Stoffer, and niece Leah Stoffer. Due to Coronavirus restrictions, there will be no service at this time. A memorial service will be held by the family in the Spring.
