George Pavlovic's Obituary
George Pavlovic, age 97, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Lake Woods Nursing Home. He was born August 25, 1925 in Middleton, MI to Michael and Anna (Boor) Pavlovic and lived in the area most of his life. On September 27, 1947, he married Beverly A. DeMars at St. Michael Catholic Church in Brunswick, MI and she preceded him in death on December 9, 2020. George served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was an honorary lifetime member of the VFW #446. He worked as a dairy loader at Highland Park Dairy for 22 years and later as a machine operator for Lorin Industries for over 15 before retiring in 1982. George was a longtime member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #706. George was a gardener and enjoyed buying cars. He also loved to bowl in his younger years. Survivors include 6 children, Kathy (Ronald) Mayo, Mark (Charmaine) Pavlovic, Cheryle (James) Schuiteman, Cindy (Robert Barrett) Suchy, Mary (John) Geldersma, George B. (Sandy Johnson) Pavlovic; 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jodi Lyn Pavlovic; a daughter-in-law, Tami Pavlovic; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; his parents; and 12 siblings. The family wishes to thank the nurses, CNA’s and staff of Lake Woods Nursing Home for the genuine care that George received while living with them. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, August 7, 2023 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 3252 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442, with the Rev. Fr. Douglas A. Braun presiding. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Sunday at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass on Monday at church. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
