Mr. George Jacob Rosema's Obituary
Mr. George J. Rosema, age 97, passed away Tuesday morning, June 12, 2018, at his home. George was born October 19, 1920 in Muskegon to Henry and Irene (Johnson) Rosema. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. On April 15, 1951, he married the former Flossie Genevieve Gonyon and she preceded him in death on December 14, 2010. George worked for the Norge Corporation for 10 years and then with Teledyne Continental as a machinist for 40 years, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks; putting them back together and reading about them. George loved his family and he will be missed, and his memory cherished, by his children, Roland Rosema and Susan (Tim) Waggoner, all of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren; Jennifer(Brian) DiGennaro, Jacob Rosema, Lindsay and Ashley Waggoner; 3 great grandchildren, Keira and Justin DiGennaro, and Wyatt Waggoner; sister, Shirley Rosema; step sister, Jewel Rosema; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Gary Dean Rosema; his parents; 3 brothers, Howard, James, and Roland Rosema; a sister, June Bryant; and 2 step sisters, Maxine Griffis and Edith Broughton. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM Friday, June 15, 2018, at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210 with Rev. John Brown officiating and Full Military Rites under the Auspices of VFW Muskegon County Council. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
