George Alba Stahl's Obituary
George Alba Stahl, age 81, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023, in Muskegon, MI. He was born May 1, 1941, in Wells County, Indiana, to Homer and Estella (Berry) Stahl. The family would eventually move to Walkerville, Michigan and George graduated from Walkerville High School. While spending time visiting her grandparents in the Walkerville area, George met the love of his life, Patricia Scholten, and they were married on July 22, 1961. George worked in the manufacturing industry for over 40 years and took on engineering roles for the companies Gardner Denver and Supreme Machined Products.
George was a man of many talents. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop and could fix anything that came his way. He was a gifted musician, playing bass guitar with the band Johnny and the Drifters. He was also known for his green thumb, with his plentiful garden and pristine lawn, something that coincided with his love for golf. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting with his grandsons. What George will be best remembered for though, was his love for his family and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
George will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia; daughters, Julie Stahl and Patti (Donald) DeHeer; grandchildren, Nicholas (Juli) Holmes, Christopher (Jen) O’Kelly, Megan O’Kelly, and Emma O’Kelly; great grandchildren, Hunter Holmes and Aaron Holmes; brother, Gene Stahl; sisters, Nada Smith and Virginia (Wayne) Cutter; and sister-in-law, Ardith Kooi. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rufus Stahl.
A FUNERAL SERVICE will take place, Friday, January 6, 2023, at 10 AM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Pastor Pete Yoshonis officiating.
