George Philip Vorgias' Obituary
George Philip Vorgias, 67, of Muskegon passed away on August 9th, 2024 in his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on March 23rd 1957 to George J. Vorgias and Ruth Esther Vorgias (Dekker) in Muskegon, MI.
George worked faithfully for 31 years as an electrician with the IBEW L.U. 275 of West Michigan. George loved his trade and local union second only to his family. He was a musician, playing bass in a band since high school with his childhood friends. He loved art, literature and history. He was a place of refuge for anyone in need of the comfort provided by a hot cup of coffee and good conversation. He lived his entire life guided by his principles and morality. George raised his sons modeled in that very fashion, to be patient with people who were not deserving and understanding when people were unreasonable. He taught his family to be humble and to live with dignity. The warmth of his loving presence will be missed, and the world is less without him in it.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Ruth Vorgias and is survived by his sister Penelope Thue (Eric), his four sons, Nicholas (Jacqui), Christian (Monica), James and Jordan (Erin), 11 grandchildren, his only nephew, Paul Holland and his lifelong friend and former wife, Susan Lund (Chuck).
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a PRIVATE family service will be held at a later date.
