George E. Thompson's Obituary
Mr. George E. Thompson, age 67, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon following a long illness. He was born in Ann Arbor, MI on March 31, 1940 to Wallace and Mabel (Payne) Thompson. He came to Muskegon as a young man and married the former Rosemary Ann Akins in 1967. George was formerly employed at West Michigan Steel Foundry until his retirement in 1998. He is survived by his: wife, Rosemary; 2 sons, Virgil (Wendy) Thompson of Whitehall and Brian Thompson of Muskegon Hts.; 3 daughters, Kimberly Thompson of Twin Lake, Jennifer Thompson and Nancy Thompson both of Muskegon Hts.; 3 brothers, Alec (Peggy) Thompson, Joseph (Karen) Thompson and Christopher (Gail) Thompson; sister, Nancy (Jack) Bush and 5 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at The Lee Chapel at 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 22, 2007. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
