George J. Sculley's Obituary
Mr. George J. Sculley, age 85, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2006 at his home. He was born in Oakland, CA on January 20, 1921 to James and Agnes (Griffin) Sculley, and had been a resident of Muskegon for most of his life. Mr. Sculley graduated from St. Mary’s High School. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp where he served as a paratrooper during WWII. He then came back to Muskegon and went to work for Continental Motors where he was a Sales Engineer for 30 years before retiring in 1980. Mr. Sculley was a member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church, the Vikings Lodge, the Muskegon Elks, where he served as secretary for 10 years, a life member of the Knights of Columbus, and the National Management Association. His general love of children led him to teach Junior Achievement and tutor students at local schools for many years. He was an avid reader, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing tennis and golf. On August 31, 1946, George married his wife of 60 years, the former Cleo Joyce Wierema in Muskegon, and she survives him along with 4 children, Judy Sculley, Michael Sculley, John Sculley and Susan (Ronald) Japinga; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Agnes Sculley and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, James, Joseph and John Sculley and 2 sisters, Mary Farr and Catherine Wirtz. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held 11AM Thursday at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Thomas Simons presiding. VISITATION will be 2-4PM & 6-8PM Wednesday at
