George P. Buris' Obituary
Mr. George P. Buris, age 81, passed away Wednesday morning, November 30, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 12, 1930 to Paul and Lucille (Berquist) Buris in Muskegon, and was a life resident. George was the owner of U.S. 31 Bar-B-Q for many years, and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and horses. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, and had been an active member of the former East Muskegon Christian Reformed Church. On March 1, 1952 he married RoseMarie DeHorn, and she survives him along with 2 children, Kristi Buris of Muskegon, Kyle (Rondi) Buris of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Christopher Johnson, Kimberly (Josh) Dekker, Justin, Andrew, and Lauren Buris; 1 great-granddaughter, Sofia Dekker; 2 sisters, Beatrice Swanson of Muskegon, Delores (Wayne) Brondyke of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews; and his favorite sister-in-law, MaryLouise (David) Griesbach. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Virginia Farkas, Violet Stone, and Patricia Buris. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210 with Rev. William Uetricht officiating. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Friday evening.
