Gerald T. Cross' Obituary
Gerald Thomas Cross, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. He was born on September 17, 1931 to Gerald and Ellen (Robinson) Cross in Muskegon. Jerry was a member of the Muskegon Church of the Brethren. He served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War and received a Purple Heart medal. Jerry worked as a mechanical maintenance supervisor for Consumers Power prior to his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed his family, golfing, fishing, hunting, reading and watching sports. On June 22, 1958, Jerry married Winifred “Winnie” Leonard and she survives him along with their daughters, Rhonda Cross, Roxanne Cross, and Robin (David) Ball; grandchildren, Isabel Cross, Edward and Ellen Ball; brothers, Robert Cross, William (Madeline) Cross, Daniel (Sharon) Cross and Lon Cross; sisters, Kay White and Sheila (Ron) Smith. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marilyn and Peggy. A FUNERAL SERVICE with flag presentation will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 25, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with Pastor William Naill and Pastor Tom Wagner officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. In memory of Jerry, memorials can be directed to Michigan Parkinson’s Foundation or Harbor Hospice Foundation.
