We had a good funeral service for dad. A few people asked me for the attorney that worked with mom and dad, to get through the snares of Social Security, Veterns Affairs, etc. to set their Wills and funeral arrangements up. Uncle Gerry was my favorite uncle. He made you laugh and always cared about you. I remember dancing with him at my wedding and thinking how luck I was to have him in my life. Mom always talked about Uncle Gerry and Aunt Betty Ann, she loved them and their family so much! You will be forever missed! I know you are in Heaven laughing that great laugh. I am so glad I got to visit Gerry while spending a few days in Michigan last October. He, Joe Sr. and I got to spend some time remembering deer camp along with our talks over the backyard fence about how we would resolve the world's problems or what a great dandelion grower Gerry was. The three of us got to enjoy lots of laughs and great memories! Gerry, thank you for all the great memories!

I too remember our annual treks to the north woods every November for our hunting adventures. We ate well, played a lot of cards, and sometimes the young bucks even went into the woods while we maintained the camp. A lot of people are forgetting, Gerry was also known for his fishing skills. He always used spinner baits because he didn't like touching the worms, and so he didn't catch many fish, but he could always tell you a story about the big one. We also took our wives to Hawaii on vacation one year. We showed them what great tourists we had become and treated them to the time of their lives.He was a great hunter, fisherman, tourist, and especially friend We had many great times together. Blessings to all of the Deater family.
