Mr. Gerald Thomas "Jerry" DeLong Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Gerald T. “Jerry” DeLong, Jr., age 65, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, February 26, 2012 in Florida. He was born December 17, 1946 in Fremont, MI to Gerald T. and Doris J. (Baillargeon) DeLong, Sr. Jerry was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was employed at Sealed Power for 20 years. He was later employed at West Michigan Rubber and Supply Company for 20 years before retiring. Jerry was an avid golfer and member of the Lincoln Golf Club. Jerry was a generous and caring man who was loved and respected by many. He will be greatly missed by all. On May 16, 2009 he married Gail Lynn Scott in Muskegon and she survives him along with 3 children, Deanna (Chris) Collins of Norton Shores, Jason (Jami) DeLong of North Dakota, Jeremy (Tara) DeLong of N. Muskegon; step-son, Troy Berean of Twin Lake; 12 grandchildren and one on the way; mother, Doris DeLong of N. Muskegon; brother, Richard (Karen) DeLong of Fenton, MI; and sister, Judy (Richard) Wilson of Montague. He was preceded in death by his father; and step-son, Scott Berean. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Saturday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Rev. Wally Coots officiating. Burial will take place in Laketon Twp. Cemetery.
