Gerald Marlyn Geldersma's Obituary
His 74 year journey has come to an end with the passing of Gerald Marlyn Geldersma. He passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at home. He was born February 8, 1942 in Grand Haven the first of six children to John and Ethel (Nibbelink) Geldersma. He married Vickie Lopez in 1962 and together they raised five sons.
Left to celebrate his life are his wife, Vickie; five sons: Gerald (Betty), Troy (JoDee), Vincent (Amanda), Steven, and John (Amanda); grandchildren: Brandi, Joshua, Hunter, Vinnae, Summer, Logan, Audrieanna, Weston, Reis and Evelynn; brothers and sisters: Vicki (Gary) Orbeck, Jalaine (John) VanDyke, Marie (Skip) Spencer, John (Mary) Geldersma, Andrew Geldersma and Donna; special mention, Heidi Potter; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ethel.
Gerald enjoyed fishing, riding his Goldwing, and spending time with family and friends. He retired from Loftis Machine Company.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, September 22, 2016 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Daniel Anderson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Lakeshore Cemetery.
