Gerald "Jerry" T. Nichols, Sr.'s Obituary
Gerald “Jerry” T. Nichols, Sr., age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 1, 2018. He was born on November 26, 1941 to Frank and Genevieve Nichols in Muskegon. Jerry proudly served his country in the Naval Air Force as an Airman 2nd Class on board the USS Saratoga. After his time in the service he came back to Muskegon where he worked as a Pattern Maker for Anderson Pattern for many years. Jerry loved tending to his yard and pool, going to the casino and traveling with his family. He was the founder of the Muskegon Eastside Extravaganza. On December 18, 1954 he married the former Carole Lee Luce, and they spent 58 happy years together. He will be missed by many. Jerry is survived by his wife, Carole Nichols; sons, Gerald “Jerry” (Sue) Nichols, Jr., Geoff (Kary) Nichols, Greg (Dawn) Nichols; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Beverly Sims and Betty (Jim) Keller. A VISITATION with Jerry’s family will take place on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will take place on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. For a more lasting memory, donations in Jerry’s name can be made to Pound Buddies.
