Gerald "Jug" L. Jibson's Obituary
Gerald L. “Jug” Jibson, age 82, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in Muskegon. He was born on January 22, 1941 in Ravenna to Russell and Bertha (Plant) Jibson and resided in the area his entire life. Jug loved his dog and tractors, growing flowers and gardening, and going for long car rides to find a good burger. He worked at ESCO for 22 years before retiring. Jug was a lifetime member of Jibson Immanuel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (Perron) Jibson, on April 29, 2023. SURVIVORS include his sister, Gloria (Bill) Mann; step-children, William Stevenson, Kristine (Bill) Wesley and Janet Crenno; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Bill (Cindy) Mann Jr., Charles (Kathy) Mann, Janis (Jeff) Kamp, Rhonda (Kevin) Cunningham and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Jug was also preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Barnes and Phyllis Johnson; and two brothers, Cecil Jibson and Russell Jibson. SERVICES for Jug will be 12noon Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the Jibson Immanuel Baptist Church (7960 Evanston Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442) with Pastor Mickey Fehler officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 11am-12pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Jibson Immanuel Baptist Church Memorial Fund will be appreciated.
