Gerald T. Lassa's Obituary
Gerald T. Lassa, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020. He was born on August 7, 1931 to Clarence and Mary (Bailey) Lassa in Traverse City, MI. From 1952-1954 Gerald proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After returning home, he went on to become a supervisor at the S.D. Warren Papermill where he worked for over 40 years. On September 1, 1951 he married the love of his life, the former Beverly Twining, and together they spent 68 happy years together. Gerald was a faithful and active member of First Christian Church. Over his years there he worked as an elder board chairman, Deacon and taught Sunday school. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, doing yardwork and gardening. Gerald adored his family and loved spending all the time he could with them. He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Lassa; children, Dan (Susan) Lassa, of Littleton, CO, Lou Ann (Kenneth) Bidelman, of Muskegon, MI; grandchildren, Emily (Cody) Gebolys, Michelle (Michael) Moselle, Christine (Mike) Horner; great-grandchildren, Josephine Moselle, Hendrik Moselle, Kaden Horner; brother, James Lassa, of Mesa, AZ; many nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Lassa. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Gerald will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at First Christian Church (2755 Holton Rd.) at 3:00 PM, with VISITATION taking place one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the First Christian Church Memorial Fund or to the charity of your choice.
